Warenne requests remedy as by a composition made between his ancestors and the predecessors of the abbey of Cluny the abbot was not to take anything from the priories of Lewes and Castle Acres except 100s. from Lewes annually. Now the abbot is seeking to take the twentieth penny from all the goods of the priories and their cells, and demand the first fruits from the priories, their cells and their churches.
