Darcy requests remedy as he was granted the manor of Preston in Craven by Clare and held it until he was ousted by Damory by the maintenance of the earl of Lancaster. Damory held it until his death following the rebellion of the earl of Lancaster when the manor was seized by the escheator.1)

Let what he has of this grant be viewed, and let the truth of his seisin and of how he was ousted be enquired of, and let the king be certified.2) Coram rege.
