Nature of request
Inquisition taken at York before the escheator, the jury finding that Clare gave the manor of Preston in Craven to Darcy for his life and that he held it until he was ousted by Merslae and others by force and arms who took it into the hand of Damory because Damory had married one of the sisters and heirs of the earl of Gloucester. They further find that the manor is in the king's hand.
