Polesolt requests that whereas he and his chattels have been attached by Kingston, and he has been imprisoned in Marlborough castle because it was alleged that he was of the assent and council against the king, that this be enquired of and he be able to come out of his penance and have the king's grace.

Let it be enquired of and the cause certified in Chancery, and afterwards let justice be done.

The petition dates to 1322 as it clearly follows on from the revolt of Thomas of Lancaster, and the inquisition held in response to the petition was held on the 14 June 1322 (SC 8/203/10114). In addition the keeper of rebel lands in Wiltshire was ordered to restore the lands, goods and chattels of the petitioner on 8 July 1322 (CCR 1318-23, p.569).
