Joce requests that lands in Stanstead Abbots and elsewhere which were his parents by a fine levied between them and Lyston be delivered to him as heir as the lands were taken into the king's hand because it was alleged that his father was an adherent of enemies and rebels against the king, though his father died without being attainted of anything.1)

Let certain people be assigned to enquire of the seisin, continuance and other articles, and how and when and in what manner John Joce died, and if the wife is dead, and let the fine be viewed in Chancery, and let justice be done there.2) Coram domino rege ipso.
