Addressees
Council.

parson of the church of St John of Dunwich
Nature of request
The petitioners state that they had been granted arrest on the goods of the men of Hainault, Holland, Zealand and Friesland because of a robbery committed by men of these lands against Richard and James, but that the people of Great Yarmouth have purchased the King's writ to exempt fishermen from these lands landing at Great Yarmouth; and as no goods except fish come to England from these lands, and most of it comes to Great Yarmouth, they ask that they might have arrest against the fishermen, who are the only people from these lands at sea, and who were not exempted in the original grant.
Nature of endorsement
It has been granted by the Treasurer and Chancellor etc.
Places mentioned
Dunwich, [Suffolk]
London

Note
CCR 1302-7 pp.281-282 is dated 13 July 1305, and would seem to come from an earlier stage of proceedings. From the mention of the grant made by the King, not the King's father, this petition would seem to date from between then and the end of the reign of Edward I. CCR 1307-13 pp.95-96 is dated 16 April 1309 and p.168 is dated 6 August 1309.
