Nature of request
William de Ryhill, who has served the King at Berwick-upon-Tweed and elsewhere, asks the King and council to have regard to the trespasses committed against him in Ipswich while he was in the King's service: namely that John de Freston seized his wife and imprisoned here, and carried off his goods and chattels. He purchased a writ of trespass against John, but has been able to have no remedy, because he was in the King's service, and because John is rich. And John continues to oppress him in his absence, namely in the King's service.
