Nature of request
The poor people of Milton Keynes, which is of the King's ancient demesne and of his crown, state that they have sued against John de Keines, their lord, who is demanding from them customs and services which they used not to perform and should not perform, and that, although they had a writ to the Sheriff to deliver their goods to them and give them peace from distraints until the plea was determined, only some of their goods have been returned, and their pigs have been taken. They also state that John de Keines and his sons have attacked and threatened them, to prevent them from proceeding in the plea, and that their case is being delayed, being sent from Bench to Chancery and back again. They request a remedy.
