Community of Yorkshire.
Nature of request
The commmunity of Yorkshire state that in the Eyre of John de Vaus in Yorkshire they had recovered their seisin of rights to common fishery in the River Ouse between York and Boroughbridge against Edmund, Earl of Cornwall, but that execution of this judgment has been delayed until now at the Earl's suit. They ask that it might be put into execution.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] This is another petition for . . . to which the King will answer.[On dorse] The Treasurer and Chamberlains of the Exchequer are to be written to by writ of Chancery to search the rolls of the eyre mentioned in the petition, both for the said community of Yorkshire and for the whole state (civitas); and it is to be brought before the King's council at York and examined if it was rightly done or not; and if not, other things are to be done. And if the inquisition taken in the Eyre is not found, it is to be done again. And afterwards they are to go to the Treasurer and council at York and given satisfaction.
