[This petition is badly damaged]Florimond, Lord of Lesparre asks the King and lords of parliament . . . from John Shakel to speed the release of the said Lord of Lesparre: may it please the King and lords of parliament . . . between the King and the said John touching the 20 000 franks granted to the King by John to receive from the count . . . and being in his hand from the payment of/for the Count of Denia, together with . . . contained in the same indenture, of which the true copy is attached to this document, so that it might be determined . . . said words, necessary letters so that the said John, his heirs and executors are not obliged . . . sum if the said John does not receive the aforesaid 20 000 franks from the said count of Foy[rest of name missing] . . . make his profit from the hostage of the Count of Denia, or his deliverance to the profit of the King according . . . indenture is completely fulfilled in all details, for God and as a work of charity, for . . . my lord John Harpedene to return to their prison in Spain.
