The petitioners state that on 25 May in the third year of his reign Henry V gave Robert Thresk permission to found a chantry in Thirsk church, and gave permission for the chaplains of that chantry to acquire lands and advowsons; but that this has never been done because of Robert's death. They request permission to found a chantry along the lines of the original grant.
