The petitioners claim that a low bridge in Yorkshire is preventing the movement of shipping in time of flood, and ask the commons to ask the King and lords that it might be raised by an ell at the costs of the petitioners, and that in future [there might be a drawbridge there], to be maintained and repaired like London bridge, at their costs, so that they might be able to levy a charge from ships passing through for this; so that in future shipping might be able to travel from Kingston upon Hull to Doncaster without hindrance.
