[This document is damaged]Memorandum that on 10 April, 6 Henry IV, Laurence Trussebut, appearing [before the King in Chancery] to answer questions on two cases held in the court of the Tolhouse of Bury St Edmunds, between Roger Drury and John Salman, and between Richard Alfred and John Salman, stated, in answer to one question that he had not been present in court when these pleas were pleaded, and in answer to another, that the juries in the inquisitions for these pleas [were charged to speak the truth on their fealty] to the King and the lord of the fee, and did not take an oath, and that this was the custom of the town.
