The petitioners state that at the last parliament held at Westminster, it was agreed, at the suit of William, Lord Clinton, that William de la Pole would re-enfeoff William, Lord Clinton or other persons to be nominated by him with all the manors, lands, tenements, rents, services and reversions with which he and his co-feoffees had been enfeoffed by William, Lord Clinton, but, although they are Lord Clinton's nominees, John Aston has been prevented with force and arms from taking possession of the manor of Goldstone in Kent. They ask the commons to ask the Duke of Gloucester and the other lords of parliament to grant a writ to the justices of the peace in Kent, ordering them to remove the people who are holding Goldstone by force, and to allow them to take possession of this manor and of the other manors assigned to them in Kent, and also a writ to the justices of the peace in Hertfordshire and the other counties where these lands are, and to the Captain of Calais or his Lieutenant, and to the Treasurer, Mayor and other officers of the King there, ordering them to aid the petitioners in taking seisin of their possessions, informing the Duke and lords of the names of any who resist them, so that they may enjoy them peacefully in accordance with the effect of the ordinance.
