- The petition states that a statute and act of parliament, a copy of which is attached to this petition, was made, granting taxes and charges to make very necessary repairs to several places in and around Calais, but that this was later repealed by another act of parliament, a copy of which is also attached to this petition. It requests that the first act might be re-enacted.
