Petitioners
King's tenants of Tickhill, Misterton, Stockwith, of the Duchy of Lancaster, of Retford, held of the crown, and of Misson, of the Duchy of Cornwall, and all the commons of the Isle of Axholme.

Nature of request
The petitioners state that the river called Bycarrs Dike used to be large enough for ships to travel along it with merchandise and victuals to and from the counties of Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, but that since the people of Gringley, tenants of the Duchy of Lancaster, have cut several trenches from it in the vills of Stockwith and Misterton, this has not been possible; and the trenches are also causing floods. They request a remedy.
