Geoffrey, son of Geoffrey de la Mare states that he brought an assize of mort d'ancestor concerning the manor of Thurlby in Lincolnshire, against Cecily Gerberge, his father's widow, and others, but that this has been delayed by an assize of novel disseisin based on false claims made by Hugh de Crescy. He asks the King to order the Chancellor to send a writ to the justices to proceed to take the assize of mort d'ancestor as quickly as possible, notwithstanding Hugh de Crescy's claims.
