Nature of request
Letter to Edward I from the foreign tenants of Saggart, both English and Irish, stating that they have been greatly impoverished by attacks by thieves and malefactors, so that they have been driven out of their homes, leaving thirteen carucates of land uncultivated. The Treasurer is now asking them for the full rent and arrears for this period. They request a remedy, and the re-valuation of these thirteen carucates.
