Nature of request
The Abbot of Bury St Edmunds states that three knights' fees that Roger le Bigod, late Earl of Norfolk, held of the Abbot, have been taken into the King's hand, and asks that prejudice and disinheritance may not come to him or his church through this.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be issued to inquire into the fees: if the said Earl held those knights' fees of the Abbot, and if this many or more, or if the same Abbot held them of the King or not.
