Nature of request
William Seward, alias William Cheddre, chaplain, states that he was duly presented to the church of Wotton-under-Edge, instituted and inducted, and in peaceful possession of it for fourteen years and more, until he was expelled by one John Dautre, clerk, who had been presented to the church of Wotton-under-Hedge. He has sued for a long time on this, and at the last parliament at Winchester he was granted his church, if the Chancellor and Treasurer found that he had a right to it; but he had not been able to have any deliverance of his church. He asks the King to order the Sheriff and the patron to deliver his church to him.
