Nature of request
Letter to John de Sandale, Chancellor of England from the burgesses and community of Kingston upon Hull, states that on the Sunday after the feast of the Circumcision, 9 Edward II, William Broun, master of a ship belonging to their fellow-burgess, John de Bedeford, was driven ashore at Selo in Norway by a storm, and that on the following Thursday, Svar de Houseby, knight, and other malefactors entered the ship, expelled the master and men with force and arms, and stole it and its contents. They ask the King to aid John de Bedeford in this matter.
