The Prior and Convent of St Anne outside Coventry, and the Prior and Convent of the house of the Visitation of Our Lady on the Isle of Axholme ask the King to grant their houses various liberties and franchises, which they list, by his charter, as he or his progenitors have granted similar liberties and franchises to other Carthusian houses.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] It was granted by the King at Hereford, on 21 May in his twenty-second year, that the priors and convents specified in this petition should separately and expressly have such liberties and franchises in all things as the houses of Witham and Hinton of the Carthusian order have, and that the Prior and convent of the house of St Anne outside Coventry should have their charter without paying a fine and fee of the petty or great seal for the King's benefit for it.inton p[None on dorse]
