Nature of request
Eleanor, widow of Henry de Segrave, states that immediately after her husband's death, his lands and goods were taken into the King's hand, as surety for the satisfaction of debts he owed the King, and she was given the keeping of a tenement in Billingsgate in London, to pay the value to the King annually, until the debts were paid. Now one Roger de Kynebautone has by collusion brought an assize of fresh force against Henry de Braundeston, without mentioning her in connection with this tenement, in disinheritance of her and her son, and keeping the King from his debt. She requests a writ to the Sheriff and Coroner of London to stay proceedings in this assize, which is to be held this Saturday, until the next parliament, when the council can be advised on the collusion and on the King's right.
