William de Breouse states that while he was at the war in Scotland, under the King's protection, certain unknown people broke into his chase called St Leonard's Forest and his park of Bewbush in Sussex, broke down his hays and hunted there and carried off his game; and they beat and wounded his men, Roger del Eawe, John del Eawe and John le Keu in Horsham, and committed other offences against them. He requests justices of oyer et terminer.

Note
CPR 1292-1301 p.464 is dated 2 April 1299, and seems likely to be the result of this petition. A similar oyer et terminer is issued on 1 September 1295 (CPR 1292-1301 p. 164) but it specifically mentions that William de Breouse was fighting in Wales when the offence took place.
