Nature of request
Letter to the King from the Mayor and community of London stating that on the Thursday in Pentecost week in the King's tenth year certain pirates and malefactors of the power of William, Count of Hainault, Holland and Zeeland, and lord of Friesland had robbed their fellow-citizen, Stephen Aleyn, at sea, as he was travelling from Sandwich to Berwick upon Tweed to supply the garrison there. The King has written to the Count asking him to have Stephen's goods, or their value, returned to him, and Stephen himself has sued to the Count, but he has done nothing. They request a remedy as the case requires.
