Nature of request
Letter to Henry III from H. de Mortuo Mari, official of the Archbishop of Canterbury, stating that he is suspending the sentence of excommunication pronounced against Hawise de Longo Campo because she would not obey the sentence in the case of matrimony between her and Henry de Subur', so that she can sue her appeal before the Bishop of Llandaff. He asks that any mandates against her from Chancery on behalf of her adversary may also be suspended during the appeal, and that the Sheriffs of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire might be ordered not to hinder her in her prosecution of it.
