Nature of request
Letter to Henry III from certain tenants of Ceri, stating that they have faithfully served the King at their own expenses, but that Hywel ap Cadwallan and Maredudd ap Maelgwn, who seek to rule half of Ceri have reduced them to poverty, so that they have fled to the King, as to their lord, for refuge, begging him not to cast them off, but to keep them in his lordship: for if he does not, they will be driven to leave their lands and seek another lord.
