Note
CCR 1339-41 p.363 is dated 20 February 1340. This is the ultimate result of this petition, but it states that John was given his pardon on 27 January, 7 Edward III (1333), but, because of some confusion about exactly which lands were meant and from whom he had acquired them, the Escheator did not put this into execution, and John had to sue to the King to have an inquisition into this: CIM 1307-49 no.1644 (writ 16 November 1339). This petition is badly damaged, but would seem to be the original request for a pardon, and is therefore dated to c. 1333.
