Nature of request
William de Ouneby, chaplain, states that on the Tuesday after St Mark in the King's sixth year, John Hwberd of Kyrcton, Alan Hwberd his brother, Robert le Bayllesman of Ramsey, Thomas Pilkoc, Geoffrey Red, Robert Palmer, and Joan his wife, came to Wistow and seized and imprisoned him, and broke into his chamber and took and carried off his chattels. He purchased a writ in Chancery against them, but has not been able to pursue his right or have justice because of the maintenance of the Abbot of Ramsey. He requests a commission to justices who are not of the Abbot's affinity to hear and determine this and another wrong that John and Alan Hwberd committed against him.
