Agnes la Goldbetare states that in the court of Alverthorpe she recovered her right to certain lands and tenements which should be hers in wardship for her son William, against brother Simon Fauconer, warden on behalf of Brother Leonard, Prior of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, and that she had letters from the Prior to brother Simon, telling him to restore them to her, together with her damages and losses in the meantime; but that he has refused to do this, and has threatened to beat and imprison her. She requests the King's letter under the privy seal to the Sheriff of Yorkshire, to give her justice and to let her have the lands and tenements that brother Simon is wrongly withholding.
