Nature of request
The Bishop of Annaghdown makes three requests:1) He requests a writ to the Justice of Ireland to take the temporalities of the bishopric of Mayo into the King's hand, as the Archbishop of Tuam has taken the whole bishopric into his hand and has taken the temporalities of the bishopric and the temporalities of the bishopric of Annaghdown during vacancies for a long time, without warrant from King or Pope; and he asks that the Justice might be ordered to seize the Archbishop, and his temporalities, goods and chattels, until he has inquired into how long these temporalities have been out of the King's hand, so that the King might recover his damages and the Bishop of Annaghdown might have justice and his damages.2) He requests a charter of pardon for his servant, Thomas de Tunstal, for the death of Thomas, son of John son of Geoffrey de Kendale, on account of his good service in Ireland and Scotland, as was granted in parliament.3) He requests alms for the Friars Minor in Ireland, as in the time of the King's father: that is, for the houses of Cork, Limerick, and Athlone.
