Nature of request
Nicholas de Langeford states that on the Wednesday of the feast of St Peter in Cathedra, John de Radeclif and other malefactors came with force and arms to the manor of Trafford, and assaulted Henry de Trafford and his sons and his whole household, so that they could not remain living there, but took refuge in a manor belonging to Robert, Henry's son. And then on the following Saturday, Richard, son of William de Radeclif, came to Trafford with a hundred armed men, and carried off the ploughs and beat the ploughmen, and then went to the manor of Robert de Trafford and attacked Henry and his sons there, until they were rescued by good people of the country. Nicholas requests a remedy for these trespasses and other damages done to them.
