Brother Guychard, Prior of Montacute, asks the King to write to Cardinal Peter de Mortymer recommending him to him as a friend, as the Cardinal is stirring up controversy in his Priory by claiming to have a papal provision to be Prior; although when he acquired it brother Guychard had already been Prior for some time, at the presentation of the Abbot of Cluny, and the Cardinal's proctors have been told by the council that it would be to the prejudice of the King and his crown to receive him.
