Nature of request
The commons of Cornwall state that although it is ordained by statute that nobody shall be sheriff who does not have lands in the county, Robert Beaupel, who has no lands in Cornwall, has been made their sheriff. They request that the Duke of Cornwall and his council, and the Chancellor and Treasurer of England, might be ordered to appoint another, more suitable, sheriff.
