Nature of request
The Abbot of St Albans states that the church of High Coniscliffe in the bishopric of Durham belongs to his house, and that his predecessors always held it for their own use, until John, Lord Greystoke, presented a clerk to it while it was in the King's hands following the death of Roger, Abbot of St Albans; and that it has remained out of his possession ever since. He requests a writ to the Bishop of Durham to try this matter, as belongs to him to do, and to rectify it, so that the Abbot can have his church back.
