Nature of request
John de Melburne makes three requests;1) He states that he was granted an ecclesiastical dignity in the church of Lichfield by the Pope, at the request of Queen Philippa, and asks the King to write to the Pope to deliver the bulls for this to his proctor, without withholding them any longer at the procurement of his adversaries - who, if they think they have an action against him, should sue in form of law.2) He also asks the King to write to Peter de Mortemer, Cardinal priest of Santo Stefano on the Caelian Hill, to expedite this business.3) He also asks the King to write to Andrew de Sapit, the King's proctor, to expedite this business and others touching the King's right.
