Nature of request
John de Bedeford states that the King had presented him to the chapel of Penrhos, on 14 January in the sixth year of his reign, but that the Bishop of Bangor has refused to give him institution according to the form of the presentment, but, accroaching ordinary jurisdiction to himself, has given him institution to the parish church of Penrhos, contrary to the franchise of the chapel, and to his great harm. He has also withheld from him the fruits and offerings of the chapel for two years. He asks that the Bishop might be summoned before the King, to answer for this.
