Nature of request
Thomas de Leycestre, keeper of the manor and parks of Windsor, and the parkers of these parks, state that on the Saturday of the feast of St Bartholomew last, John de Trotesworth and others came into Windsor Old Park with bows and arrows and with hounds, and attacked Thomas le Parker, chasing him up a tree so that he escaped with difficulty; and he wounded John de Trotesworth in self-defence. They ask the King to ordain a swift remedy, so that this trespass does not go unpunished, as there are many common malefactors in the park.
