Nature of request
Richard, son of Richard atte Forde, states that he had inherited two acres of land in East Farleigh from his father, and that, because he was under age, it was delivered to his mother to hold until his majority. In the King's eighth year she leased it for a year to Walter Colpeper to sow for a year, paying her the third sheaf, but he paid her only two bushels of barley, and wrongly held the land for term of his life. It is now in the King's hand because of his forfeiture: he requests the King's grace.
