Nature of request
The Mayor of Bordeaux makes two requests:1) He asks the King to send his letters to the Mayor, jurats and community of Bordeaux, instructing and admonishing them to work for his honour and service in future in the form that seems good to him, and also asking him to write to the Mayor thanking him, as the Chancellor will inform him.2) He states that after the town came back into the King's jurisdiction and obedience, Bernard Chikati junior and Raymond Chikati paid large sums of their own money to pay wages and to support the costs of the town. He asks that they might be thanked for this, and that the Sheriffs and Bailiffs of England, and especially the Sheriffs of London, might be ordered not to harass or molest the goods and merchants of Bernard and Raymond.Bernard de Bobifuill, the brother of Peter de Gavereto, makes three requests:1) He asks the King to write to the Bishop and chapter of Bazas, asking them to provide him with the first vacant prebend in that church.2) He asks the King to write to the Abbot and convent of Sauve Majeure, asking them to provide him with the priorship or some other benefice.3) He asks the King to write to the Bishop of Agen, asking him to provide for Raymond Arnaldi de Rama in tithes or other benefices without cure.
