Nature of request
William de Widdeslade states that a ship of his, travelling with spices and other victuals from Sluis in Flanders to England, was robbed off the coast near Yarmouth by malefactors from Germany, Zeeland and Friesland; and that they have withheld these victuals and satisfaction has not been given to him, as was attested by the people of London by their letters presented to the last parliament at Lincoln. Arrest was ordered on the goods of merchants of these parts, but it, like all the arrests in the realm, it has been halted until Michaelmas. He asks that orders might be given to continue with this arrest.

This petition was apparently formerly enclosed with CCW 1244-1326 p.443, which is dated to 3 July 1316. This would agree with the reference to the last parliament at Lincoln, which would be that of January 1316.
