[This petition is damaged.]The Abbot of St Albans makes two requests:1) He requests a writ to have brought into parliament or before the justices of the King's pleas the record and process of a suit held in the court of the Bishop of Durham between [missing], plaintiff, and the Abbot concerning the church of High Coniscliffe, which the Abbot held peacefully until Anthony, late Bishop of Durham, wrongly received Walter de Clyfford, presented by [missing], lord of High Coniscliffe, in prejudice of the King and to the disinheritance of the Abbot. The lord of High Coniscliffe has since made another presentation. He requests a remedy so that the King does not lose his right and so that the Abbot is not disinherited.2) He requests a writ to the Bishop of Durham, not to give the church of High Coniscliffe away until the King's right has been tried.
