Nature of request
Gilbert Talebot states that he sued a writ of cosinage before the justices of Common Bench against Ralph de Wylynton and Eleanor his wife, concerning Carreg Cennen castle and the commote of Iscennen, and that after several defaults by Ralph, Eleanor has been received to defend her right. She states that she holds the castle and commote by gift of the King to Ralph and Eleanor, and to John de Wylynton, and has produced his charter, saying that she cannot answer without the King. The justices have stayed proceedings, and Gilbert asks the King to order the Chancellor to send writs to them to proceed.
