[This petition is partly illegible.]John de Monlaur, knight, seigneur de Monlaur, makes four petitions:1) He states that he and his progenitors have always loyally served the King, and that his castle and lands have been ruined by the war. He asks, in recompense for his services, and for the repair of his castle, that he might have the King's letters patent to hold for term of life [vineyards in] Cessac and corn in St Emilion . . .2) He requests the King's letters patent for all jurisdiction in the parish of Moulon, where the crown receives very little.3) For the repair of his castle, he requests the King's letters patent for the pactis and redemptions from the castles of Bouteville, Archiac, Genzac, Castelmoron, Sauveterre, St Macaire and La Réole, and of Mareuil, Villeboy and Vibrac.4) He requests, for himself and his heirs, the old castle of Langon, with all the tolls paid by travellers, rents, rights and revenues, as Arnold de Cabarret used to have.
