[This document is damaged.]Letter from the mayor and citizens of London to Edward II, stating that the goods and merchandise of David de Cotesbrok, their fellow-citizen, were arrested by King Haakon of Norway, together with the goods and merchandise of various other merchants, because of an arrest wrongly and maliciously made at Lynn at the prosecution of Tydemann Lipp, merchant of Eastland. The King wrote to the King of Norway asking for these goods to be released, but he has done nothing, and has gone so far as to forbid any Englishman - with a few exceptions - to leave his land.
