Nature of request
William de Forde states that on 1 August 48 Edward III (1374) Edmund de Mortimer, Earl of March and Ulster, granted him an annual rent from the manor of Gussage St Michael in Dorset, which Roger, Edmund's son and heir, granted to his brother Edmund; and that he was seised of that rent until the manor came into the King's hand after Edmund's rebellion. He requests a writ to have that rent paid to him for term of his life, together with the arrears.
Nature of endorsement
On 8 July in the seventh year etc., in the presence in the council of the Chancellor, Treasurer, Keeper of the Privy Seal, Steward and Chamberlain, and Lord Burnell, it was agreed that such and as many writs under the great seal should be made as are necessary, according to the effect of the contents of this petition.
