The Prior and convent of Pontefract state that the Earl of Lancaster had agreed to write to the Pope to ask that they might be able to appropriate the church of Kippax and the vicarage of All Saints, Pontefract, of which they are patrons, as, although the King has granted them the appropriation of the church of Kippax, as far as it is in him, the Archbishop of York is preventing them from having it. They ask the King to write to the Pope to expedite this business, and that the vicarage might be served by one of their monks.
