CPR 1401-5::p.361 is dated 7 December 1403 and p.437 is dated 1 September 1404. CCR 1402-5 p.203 is dated 8 December 1403, and CCR 1405-9 p.177 is dated 3 March 1407. The petition is therefore dated to between c. 1403 and 1408, when John Hawley the elder died. For his frequent attacks on Spanish shipping see The Commons 1386-1421, iii.328-30.
