[Parts of this petition are stained and illegible.]William Boynton requests the restoration of lands in Roxby and Newton under Roseberry which had been the subject of a fine made in 14 Edward III before Stonore by Thomas and Katherine de Boynton and William Moubray, and had descended through various members of the family. Roxby was granted for life to Elizabeth, wife of Henry de Boynton, and after her death came into the hands of Henry V, while Newton was taken into the hands of Henry IV following the forfeiture of Henry for his involvement in a rising at Berwick in July 1405.
