Note (Additional information about the record)
- Due to damage, the name of Earl is destroyed, while the schedule mentioned in the text is no longer attached. Notes on the guard suggest that the petitioner is probably the Earl of Suffolk (or, less probably, the Earl of Arundel), and suggests that the missing schedule may be C 81/1433/33, draft letters patent to the earl and his wife relating to lands in Hampshire (the resultant grants are at CPR 1441-6, p.195 & p.197). That draft would almost certainly have been attached to just such a petition, and while the two may be related, there is no firm link between these documents, and they certainly do not appear to have been written by the same scribe.
